girl crush, Lara Wickenkamp

There is solace in the way the moss hugs the stones that make up the wall outside your house. It has been there before you and it will be there forever. I used to think they look soft, white like big bread bellies, especially when they steamed early in the morning. We sauntered home from sticky rooms and silly people and the looks we shared were risky, like letting your foot stick out from under the covers at night. Dawn is a time where the thickness of the night air evaporates to make way for the punch flavoured palette of the morning. I take your hand. She is quenching the entropy of the hours spent in my head, and I light another cigarette.
