After photographing mostly people for a long time, the subject of Klaas Zwijnenburg’s work gradually changed, until cows became his main source of inspiration.
“Cows are beautiful, both outside and inside, and they are fantastic models. Although we use products that come from them almost every day, they seem invisible to most of us. When you really look at them, are among them, you will see they are pretty, funny, sweet and curious animals. But also that they are individuals, have complex mutual relationships, form lifelong friendships and have deep emotions. I try to capture their personalities while enjoying their company. They deserve to be seen”.
