Life Hack, John Homan

Life Coach, self-anointed mentor, power blogger regurgitating your newest blog entry Fifty Ways Your Life Can Be Amazing. Professing to know the secret of life, whilst marketing those same success secrets stolen, reworded, and replayed in weekend power seminars from time immemorial. My pain is not your profit. I will not buy the solution to a problem diagnosed in an infomercial.

To you, I’m part of that mass of pliable dough, ready to be rolled out on a board and cut into cookies that look and act like you. Gelled spiky hair, shiny shoes and a positive attitude bordering on delusion construct a majestic monument to the American dream, polished and lacquered, shining in the sun on a high pedestal, yet ringing hollow.

There may have been sincerity in your heart once, but you believed your own hype, seeing the adulation of the desperate masses as confirmation of success. Little by little changing into a demigod placed on earth to bless little people who struggle with unrecognized potential. We became a subspecies to you, barely hanging onto life without the intervention of your powerful influence. That incredible memory of yours seems to have removed traces of your own former life; those times of struggling to pay utilities, late night laundromat visits, taking home wet jeans because you were short one quarter, having to tell your kids they would miss the field trip because you were short on rent money.
